Yup, it’s sneaking up on us but we are so ready for it. I mean, as ready as one can be.

We’ve renovated the whole apartment, hung up all the lights, built all the Ikea and other furniture that we bought, set up the tv and sound system, built the bed frame, moved most of the boxes over, packed the shelves of the new kitchen with glasses, plates, etc, installed smoke detectors and moved over some of our clothing already.

In the meantime we are practically living out of a suitcase with the remainder of our clothes, and our old cupboard has been thrown away. We are living on the basics. I can’t imagine what it’s like to move house if the house is full of your stuff. At least for us we’ve just got our room and some extra things around the place and all the big kitchen appliances (oven, stove, fridge, dishwasher) were already in the new place.

The plan is to move across on Saturday and hopefully we’ll only need to drive the moving truck one time but you never know…there’s still a little to be packed but we have 4 days left and it’s doable. I knew it would be stressful to move, but it is crazy what people collect during their lives! And not even all of my things are in Germany!

Here’s hoping for a smooth moving day and a happy life in the new place! I know this post is a little ‘economical’ with a lack of pictures, etc but I will put some up once we’ve settled in or at least gotten over the main stress of the event.

Also…please don’t snow! The weather has been crazy and oddly warm so let’s hope it stays that way until at least Sunday 🙂
