Who doesn’t love a new gadget? Recently a friend of mine got me a good deal on a new electric toothbrush. Those things have become so advanced over the years!
My old Oral B toothbrush performed well in tests but was starting to run out of battery every 2 days or so which was annoying, especially considering that they contain a regular AA battery, only you can’t swap it out yourself.
I’ve had it for a number of years anyway, so it was about time for a new one.
The new brush is an Oral B Pro 6000 which comes with 7 brush heads (including a whitening brush and some for orthodontics like braces), a travel case, a charging station, a holder for up to 4 brush heads and a ‘SmartGuide’ which basically tells you how to brush your teeth and checks that you’re doing it right. Pretty nifty!
I used it for the first time this week and it made my gums bleed a little despite the fact that I’ve been using electric toothbrushes for most of my life. By the second time the bleeding pretty much stopped. It’s very high-powered and does a great job. Turning on the SmartGuide, you can program it (or just leave it as you get it) to warn you at each 30 second interval so you know to move on to the next quadrant of your mouth/teeth. There are 5 different modes including Daily Clean, Gum Care, Sensitive, Whitening and Deep Clean. This brush can even be used with an App via Bluetooth, though I don’t use this function.
It hasn’t been in my possession long enough for me to test the battery life, but I charged it for a day in the beginning, using it once for 2 minutes in between because I couldn’t wait. Apparently it’s supposed to last 10 days when you brush twice a day for 2 minutes each time.
I’m getting a new gadget for Christmas this year so I can’t wait to write about it!
