Favourite Five: Apps

We’ve got a new series for you where we will tell you about our five favourite things. First up, it’s our five favourite apps, whether it’s for Android, iOS or Mac (or more than one). Enjoy!

1. Wunderlist

Wunderlist is a very useful app that allows you to create and share lists, for example, shopping- or todo-lists. It works on Android, iOS and Mac. The best feature is, that everyone you share the list with can add items to it as well as “cross off” entries. For example, I share a shopping list with Steph and she can add items to it for me to pick up on my way home. At the supermarket, I can simply check the boxes for each item and they get archived. It really helps when coordinating shopping, packing (before a holiday), and basically anything that can be made into a list.

2. Movie Mate

Movie Mate is more than just a huge movie database with pictures, trailers, rankings (IMDb) and reviews. It also allows you to label movies as “not seen yet” to create a watchlist as well as reminding you via notifications once a movie on your watchlist is released. General lists like “Opening”, “Box Office”, “Coming soon” and DVD Releases give you ideas of what movies to watch next.

3. Tiny Alarm Clock

Tiny Alarm Clock is not only an alarm clock, but also a very efficient way to get up in the morning. Once the alarm goes off, a little cute animal shows up on your screen, which needs to be tickled in order to be snoozed.
There are 3 difficulties and my favourite is nr. 2. It wakes you up but doesn’t make you want to throw your phone against the wall.

4. InfoType

This app is a comprehensive lexicon for typography. Whenever you’re not sure about something like punctuation or typography features, you can browse this beautifully designed app for the answers. It also has a quiz to test your knowledge in the field of Text-Design.

5. GifMe

This app lets you create short GIF files using your in-built camera. It doesn’t sound like much but it is quite fun to use.
