Housewarming

Whew! That was one hectic day but we are settling into the new apartment well and have made it into our second day here without any problems.

The day started at 6am when Michael went to pick up the moving van. The roads were slippery but he thankfully managed to evade an almost-accident. The first helpers arrived at 8am and by then we had packed up the last things in our room and brought some of the boxes downstairs. Our helpers were plenty (about 12) and came in little waves. By about 10am we were at the apartment and started to unload the van and all the cars and the rest of the lamps and mirrors were hung. We had to drive the van back one more time for a few items but still managed to be done by 4pm. At least, that’s when everyone left and we were left with the rest of the boxes.

Now we are hanging pictures, unpacking boxes and the rest of our clothes and everything else is ready! Our housewarming party is this Friday so until then we should have everything set up 🙂

I won’t be posting any pics of the actual apartment but we have heard from our locksmith that in the area there is a nice climbing garden and a little river so once we check those out I’ll give you a tour! For now, we’re relaxing in our new home and putting our final touches on it. No furniture was harmed in the making of this home. Thank goodness.

Here’s a last look at the view from our old place to satisfy any visual cravings:
