Christmas is just around the corner and about 2 weeks ago or so, we got our home ready for the festive season. I mean, if they can start selling decorations and chocolates in October/November, it’s about time we got our act together.
LEDs

Decking out your new pad
As I mentioned in a previous post, we have found an apartment that we are happy with and can probably afford in Stuttgart, but now comes the fun part: decorating.
I’m no Martha Stewart, but I definitely have ideas.
For example, the apartment has a great corner, perfect for an L-shaped sofa:
I like the fact that you can store a few books or even put your tea into the arm of the sofa. This one is a little big and expensive, but it’s going in the right direction. The other alternative, of course, is to just get a regular sofa and buy some extra mattresses for our visitors, which we can store in the cellar.
We’re thinking about getting some second-hand furniture but the sofa definitely has to be new and ideally should be big enough for 2 people to comfortably sleep on in case we have visitors (ahem, right, Kokstars?).
I never really thought about how many options one is faced with when decking out their new place. We’ve been to Möbel Rieger, XXXL Gamerdinger and two other furniture stores looking at sofas, dining tables, sideboards, lighting options and only scratched the surface.
Also in terms of lighting, we’re going to go for LEDs in some places and ambient light. I’m looking forward to it all being finished, but first thing’s first. Secure the place and then the work begins. I shall update you on our progress and any tips are welcome!
