Resident Evil: Revelations II

I never used to play horror games but I enjoy Resident Evil because we can play it co-op. Chronologically this game takes place between Resident Evil 5 and 6. I still won’t watch zombie movies (unless it’s like Zombieland) but now I like playing zombie games because at least you can kill them.

Army of Two The Devil’s Cartel

I know this is about a year late, but we just played through Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel from EA Games. The game was bought second-hand for the Xbox 360 and we played coop mode.

This game is part three of the franchise and was very fitting since we also recently re-watched A Man Apart, starring Vin Diesel as he gets mixed up in some Mexican cartel carnage.

Army of Two is a 3rd person action shooter which is a favourite in our household. It’s not as good compared to a game like Gears of War, but it was also lots of fun to play. There are many points in the game where you and your partner have to part ways in order to better flank the enemy, making it an individual experience for each player. Overkill mode allows both players to create maximum damage and activate immortality and when triggered at the same time, even more damage can be made, showing that in this game, teamwork is rewarded.

A basic thing to mention is the split screen mode…the screen is split horizontally instead of vertically. I find this important because a vertical split is annoying, so this made gameplay much better.

Another great part of the game is being able to customise your weapons with the money that you earn during gameplay. I am more of a sniper but Michael is more of a run-in-and-kill-with-close-combat player so this was great for us. We had similar weapons at times but they were totally customised to fit our needs.

For co-op players it is a great game and we finished it in about 3 days (mostly only playing in the evenings). The storyline was quite predictable but all in all, it was an entertaining play. We played this game without playing parts 1 and 2, so I’m not sure about continuity or the differences between the games, but we are planning to try out the first two as well.

To be honest, we wouldn’t have gone for this game except for the fact that we had already played most of the other co-op games on the market. Still, it’s good for some fun and it was nice to just run around creating havoc. It also has a number of levels of difficulty including ‘insane’ and I found the controls to be quite intuitive unlike some other games *coughFusecough*.

3 out of 5 stars from me.

Deadpool the game trailer

High Moon’s new mind smashing game has gotten a new trailer and Here it is really it looks perfect for Deadpool and therefore it pleases me. Nolan North the voice of such characters as Nathan Drake,Desmond Miles and many others will be Deadpool once again.

Lego Marvel Superheroes

As usual the developers are TT games and Warner Bros. Interactive will be publishing it this time its going to be for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, DS, 3DS, PS Vita and PC and will be coming around september ish.

Now this is like the 13th game in the LEGO franchise and it is very robust but it still finds ways to interest us and it doesn’t seem to be running out of steam and recently we have been able to look at the new and upcoming Lego Marvel Superheroes this game looks like it will be a Ultimate alliance like game utilising one of the biggest line up of heroes to date

Developed by TT Games it will offer the usual action adventure and puzzling we are use to but this time showcasing a character line up taken from the sprawling Marvel universes Nick Fury has brought together superheroes from all places to save Earth from Galactus and loki…… and others.

Visually the figures look the same as the ones that come in the packages and this is not unusual, i hope that they can draw me back into this game series because i haven’t finished one since Lego indiana jones.

Ubisoft says we like Annual Assassin’s creed

Ubisoft Montreal’s CEO Yannis Mallat has hinted at the publisher will be approaching their yearly Assassins creed installments

At GDC Eurogamer asked whether or not Ubisoft might take a break from releasing a new AC title each year Mallat’s answer was “No”

He has explained his answer by saying

“The players will tell us. Right now there are more and more coming into the franchise […]It’s our breakthrough. When you have quality content, the frequency of coming out with the game is not an issue at all.

On the contrary, people expect more and more of that content. So it’s natural to be able to provide that content. The gamers are happy and it’s our job to make them happy.”

And he’s right the Assassins creed games make huge amounts of money in sales so there isn’t much incentive to stop even for a while there are those franchises that burn out because of too many releases: Tony Hawk and Rock Band/Guitar Hero but on the other hand there are games like sad to say Call of Duty this series has been around for ages but people still buy it then there are sport games like madden and NBA 2K they all seem to be doing fine.

So what do you think should the assassins creed series continue as a yearly or should it stop soon?

Recently Rockstar has shown off the box art for the newest installment and it has come with new screenshots.

The cover shows the three main protagonists Franklin, Michael and Trevor along with them there is a Angry dog, the blonde with the fruity phone, a guy on a jetski, a helicopter  dirt bike and an R8 so if the cover is going to indicate game play im going to take so many selfies and upload them to the Facebook equivalent. And drive cars obviously.

My brothers are the experts on this, but I just saw this and had to post immediately. PS4!

I have always loved gaming mainly because our household had a majority of males, but I was always more of a pc gamer.

I’ve started getting into Xbox360 since I came to Germany and I’ve come to really enjoy it. The last game that I played all the way through and loved was Gears of War 3, and now I’m excited to find out more about the PS4.

It even looks like you may be able to catch a glimpse of the new console at 0:30 secs, according to PCGames.de.

* Update: I guess I should have called this ‘PS4 Announcement?’. There has been a lot of speculation on Twitter and on technology news sites about what this will entail. Many await the latest Playstation Console from Sony, however it is most likely that if so, it will be announced but not released until later in the year. All we know is that we should be expecting to ‘See the future’ at this event. Either way, I’m excited to find out what it’ll all about. Hopefully something amazing after all this mystery and drama.

Justin: My sister has taken a big leap by posting about the new PlayStation I have stayed off this topic as to not stir the pot on what’s been said but so far the stuff that has been said is not much but this is for a good reason the trailer that has been given is for the future of PlayStation the topic that will come along on February 20th.

But as usual there have been leaks by VGLeaks that have the tech specs for the ‘Orbis’ development kits currently used by the PlayStation 4 game developers, but a great deal of speculation has all people guessing what will ….everything really. There has been rumors of many thing such as Sony ditching the dual shock controller design with the release of the PlayStation 4 and the patented tech that will allow the company to block players from playing used games, Sony has yet to confirm or reject these rumors.

So Sony fan boys hold your hats you will only have to wait a few more weeks to see what they have to say along side this there is also another conference held 5 days after that has no topic at this time.
